Ten terrorist suspects held in Akuressa - One Suspect 70 years old

Akuressa police arrested nine youths believed to be LTTE cadres and an elderly person from Hulandawa plantation in Akuressa at dawn yesterday (22), a police spokesman said.
A special operation was launched from Sunday (21), with assistance from the Army, to search the area for some terrorist suspects who had infiltrated into the area. The operation was conducted under the directions of ASP Matara, Ratnatilaka.
Police said five of the suspects, arrested at the plantation, were definitely LTTE cadres and the other five persons were assisting LTTE cadres to remain in hiding in the area.
They were in the age group of between 21 and 46 and only one suspect was 70 years old. They were residents of Trincomalee and Vavuniya areas, OIC, Akuressa Police, Tissa Senanayake said.
They were to be held under detention orders by the police after they were produced before Courts police said.

These terrorists should not be easiliy released. They must go to life prison or death penelty.
South people must be well educated plan of LTTE. They must be also provided information about how to contact police in such cases.
Govenment must take serious steps to avoid any voulnerable situation of civil lives in south as well.

LTTE used pregnant women as suicide caders.
They may use old people in the future, just to use the simpathy from SLA and also OLd people have not been used in suicide attacks. |

To the Sinhalese Police every Tamil would seem like a Terrorist - the same way the Australian Police classified me as Sri Lankan. Then the punishment is greater.
It would be interesting to know on what Objective basis these persons were considered Terrorists.

Was the bomber a woman?
Do they know her name?
Cut the crap out man. Don't just spit out SLA propaganda.Your police and the SLA will never find out who the bomber was. |
