JVP hopes for historic victory, ready to take over country

.....It will clearly prove that the JVP is the party to take over the country in the future,` Mr. Weerawansa said.

Wimal also knows it will clearly lead to war. Sri Lanka - why are you so set on a war? I`m by no means a pacifist, but anyone with an ounce of sense can see that hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians will lose their lives next time around - and for what? only for one day in the future there emerges the next generation who really want peace; a new generation who will negotiate a true peace and compromise and give concession, a new generation that will set aside the hatred of today, a new generation that will hate the memory of the leaders of today; leaders of all sides. Wake up everyone.... you are about to throw away an enormous chance for your medium term prosperity.

I never posted in this forum supporting the national policies of JVP . Especially I condemned the way they handle the ethnic issue. However, I do think their current policy on ethnic issue is to prevent the JHU?s being dent into their vote bank. As a outsider I may see it very much worrying thing in a democratic and multiethnic country. But erasing out a party like JHU also an important task ahead of us. Only JVP can do this,

Above all JVP is the only party that can deliver a system and discipline to the local government system, which is totally corrupt.

Before the presidential election, once Wimal said in a TV debate `We are ready to give-up the unitary state, If LTTE give-up the Separate Eelam state. Till LTTE stand for Eelam we never loose our stands for unitary state`

I don`t know this statement still valid or not.

Nobody can give up the Unitary State !

it is kept as it is forever.

people who cant stand with it, goto another federal state.

besides, dont take what these JVPers say so seriosly,

they keep changing, let them be little more liberal !

Nothing can keep forever. With the time & requirement policies should change.

Whatever, I say about JHU and LTTE, I respect both parties for the consistency in their policies.

JHU has ALWAYS stood for a UNITARY state. LTTE has ALWAYS stood for a SEPERATE state. Both these ends are not practical, but they have maintained their policies like that whatever happens.

On the other hand JVP is a chameleon. It says one thing today, another thing tomorrow.

In 1988-89 these guys asked us not to eat Mysore Dhal and Bombay onions because they are produced in India, but the same people now shamelessly go for parties at Indian High Commission!

They talk about the poor people in the stages, but when travel they go on First Class in the airplanes!

WeeraMonkey, the champion of the poor has no qualms in using a Rs. 150,000 worth cell phone!

Once they want a UNITARY state, but the next day they say FEDERAL model is okay. One day they have no problems with Norway in, the next day they want Norway out.

You cannot rely on such a party.

Unitary State is what we have and its practical.

LTTE`s acceptance of it was the main question here.

bunch of thugs in Vanni (0.3% of SL population) is claiming a seperate state is not supplemented.

Use of Force is the quick and easy way of getting rid of it !

  • 29 Mar 2006 08:44:42 GMT

    Lankapottayo,

UNITARY state is practical only in your dreams.

However, if you do not want to get up, it is your problem.

    Naleen,

you may not like the Unitary state, it does not matter.

Majority of Sri Lankas want the Country to be as Unatiry,

and its destined to be like that.

so your views are useless :)
