Former UNP MP and veteran actor Ravindra Randeniya is to be appointed as a presidential advisor shortly. The Daily Mirror learns.
Mr. Randeniya told the Daily Mirror yesterday he had met President Mahinda Rajapaksa for a discussion on matters related to peace, politics and the cinema.
Mr. Randeniya said he was still not informed of any appointment.
?I have been associated with the President for some time now and I decided to meet him as a friend,? he said.
Mr. Randeniya said he had a lengthy discussion on matters related to the cinema and art.
?I was impressed with the vision of the President and decided to back him for the sake of the country leaving politics aside,? he added.
