President Mahinda Rajapakse does not belong to the PA alone but to the entire nation. The President, he said, is duty bound to serve all communities and religions without discrimination. As such it is the responsibility of the masses to help to implement the `Mahinda Chintanaya` concept to achieve peace and solidarity in the country.
This was stated by Sabaragamuwa Chief Minister Maheepala Herath addressing a party reorganisation meeting held at Kirwathuda in the Rambukkana electorate.
He said the SLFP has decided to enlist the co-operation of youth to take forward the `Mahinda Chinthanaya`.
With this in view, it was enrolling youth to the party. It is their responsibility to air shortcomings prevalent in their villages and also secure jobs for the unemployed. Party labels cause dissension. As long as there is disunity among us we cannot progress.
The C. M. regretted that the precincts which was inaugurated about eight months ago in the presence of Ministers Tissa Vitharana and Sarath Amunugama along with high ranking officials, had not shown any development although the state expended large sums of money. This he attributed to the irresponsibility of certain government servants whose main idea was to draw their monthly salaries and neglect their responsibility.
