  • 6 Nov 2006 22:12:48 GMT

[The Military spokesman however admitted the 512 brigade commander may have spoken in an unfriendly tone forcing the three newspapers to see it as a threat. He stressed there was no restriction being imposed on the newspapers and that the Jaffna Security Forces commander had been informed of the latest developments. ]

    unfriendly tone = threat?

2002 SL media freedom 51/163 - while in CFA

today SL 115/163 - at war

I am sure ppl who like war will continue to support it regardless.

600,000 Jaffna people are already in the open prison. They were already denied food, medicine, education, job, fishing, Fear of white van abductions....to name few... Now, one step further, they are banned to read news paper...

GOSL may appoint one more commission to inquire about this censorship....

This is a good example of the unwanted development and maximizing the short-sighted move by EU to list LTTE as a banned organization against tamils , at least now the EU should open its eyes.

the whole point of the censorship is to block the flow of news. THEY SHOULD have blocked THIS news!

[The SLA officials have also reprimanded the editors for publishing stories highlighting the current humanitarian crisis in the Jaffna peninsula caused by the undeclared economic embargo on the peninsula by the SLA, and the closure of the A9 route preventing the flow of essentials like food, medicine and fuel.]

It`s sad isn`t it? It seems no one can help these people?

  • 6 Nov 2006 22:26:50 GMT

This time SLA should go beyond.

Jam the Radio and TV frequncies. Why GOSL should allow Velu to carry out propaganda.

If possible plan a bombing campaign at the time of talks to be held and the place talks to be delivered, probably a bunker.
