Dalada Maligawa attack marked

The sacred temple of DALADA MALIGAWA doesn`t belong only to sinhalese but also for the pÍople of sri lanka and we have to preserve this national heritage left by our ancestors.

Worship places like Bouddhist temples, catholics churches, Mosques and hindu temples should be well protected. It is out duty too.

Dalada Maligawa played an important role during the last period of kandy before falling into British empire but Bitish government also did their best to preserve this sacred place .

The natural justice has been served on them. That is why LTTE is dying gradually.

I think most of Tamils regreted and stopped supporting LTTE after that.

so you are saying attack on dalada maligawa is right and a retaliation?

  • 28 Jan 2006 18:28:16 GMT

What about the dastardly acts of the SL military in destroying places of worship of other religions? What about the many temples and churches packed with people wantonly destroyed by the SL airforce in the Northeast??

Every place of worship is sacred to the people who worship in them. The Dalada Maligawa is a place of worship like any other.

Are the Buddhists claiming religious superiority now?

Maligawa by itself is a great piece of architecture but how can a decayed tooth of a dead religious leader help anybody after all Budda himself said very clearly he could not help anybody after he is dead and now he is he is dead. How mystical and blind are the people who worship these man made idols?

Isnt the JHU going to mark the attack on Dalada Maligawa by the JVP in late 1980`s?

You should also think about how ordinary Tamils felt when `their` temples and schools were burned down. You see, if `patriots` like you can somehow perceive your current anger from the other angle there wouldn`t be any war.

I wish things like this would stop, but with another war on our doorsteps, thanks to JVP and the JHU , there is no gurantee that there won`t be another suicide atttack in Kandy or another bomb dropped somewhere in Wanni on a sacred Hindu temple. The only thing is innocent people die. Not you and not me.

    Excellent question.

A religious place is a religious place as long as it used for the religious purpose. but if anybody uses it for terrorist purpose it becomes a terrorist place. Then the army has the right to attack it.

so it is upto devotees to prevent terrorist from using it.

Many churches and schools were used by LTTE for its terrorist work. so SLA had no option, but to attack them.

If Dalada maligawa was used as an army camp then LTTE has the liberty to attack it. but it was not the case.

Both LTTE and JVP are ruthless butchers to attack a religious shrine like Dalada Maligawa.

But so were the butchers who attacked the Hindu kovil at Panadura and mercilessly killed its poosaari by throwing him to the fire. These are the same people today form the JHU.

LTTE, JVP and JHU are all butchers. They are blood brothers. Mr. Prabhakaran and Mr. Ellawala Medhananda are cousins. That is why LTTE has ever killed a single JVP or JHU leader.

Whatever the differences appear between LTTE and JHU/JVP are only because of `Sibling Rivalry` Both have the same goal. Divide the country and segregate the two communities.

To build a peaceful, united and secular Sri Lanka we should eliminate all these three ominous forces, LTTE, JHU and JVP.
