    These are all government schools.

The Scholarship examination has 2 components of benefit.

    1. You qualify to go to a Popular Colombo school.

    2. You qualify for Financial grants from the government towards your education until completing A/L.

As far as I know, not all students at Royal are from middle income families. There are low income families too. they may benefit.

Other thing about Royal is there are 2 sections of Royal.

Royal College and Royal Junior. Those qualified in this exam can join Royal College.Students coming from other districts will join Royal College. Those who did not get get the required qualifying marks will continue at Royal Junior until completing O/L.

    I hope I am correct.

I am surprised to see that Thurstan too is a popular school...

Knowing the level of the idiots produced by that college, which parent actually want to send his son to Thurstan? Beats me?

Not surprisingly Tissa Madya Maha Vidyalaya is not in the list of popular schools. We all know the level of the ata-pass idiot who came out of it...

I suggest that you read the article again. The numbers given beside each school denotes the qualifying mark TO ENTER THESE SCHOOLS. It does not mean so many from Royal or Visakha has sat this exam as you have understood , I believe.

How many would enter each school is not determined here.

    Hi Guys...

Im a Royalist entered to this great school through grade five scholarship. I read your replies n just like to add some comments...

As Fairplay said, you can enter to a any popular school (Not only in Colombo) if you have enough marks. And if you r from a low income family you can get financial grants from the government.

Those who qualified with enough marks in this exam can join RC in grade 6. Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims, etc... It doesnt matter. They r mixed with students who joined to RC in grade 1. Not all the Royalists r rich in money. There r lot of students with low income family backgrounds. Im also not rich. If there is no such a scholarship I never be a Royalist.

And Naleen... I also studied in Tissa Madya Maha Vidyalaya till grade 5. School is not the cause for producing ata-pass idiots. There r so many other reasons for that. Dont blame for schools. Its same like blaming someone else mother...

    Naleen...I forgot one thing.

There is a ata-pass idiot from my school (TCC) in SL politics. I dont have any arguements with you abt him. But its not the fault of school.
