Eksath Lak Vanitha Peramuna rejects leadership change - Wants Ranil Wickremesinghe to continue

  • 8 Jan 2006 12:00:33 GMT

Ranil the She Man with a golden tongue. No wonder women folk loves it - him.

  • 8 Jan 2006 15:10:33 GMT

Whether Ranil is She Man or He Man it doesn`t matter to us Popeye! Atleast he gets his work done, sticks to his word and is no puppet like his counterpart Mahinda with his red shawl.

Ranil stands out as an emblem of a true gentleman, that fights elections through methods other than throwing insults and deragatory comments.

The goons in power right now that, in the words of Anizam, knows nothing better than to hoot, have shown us in their few weeks in power just how capable they are in putting their shouts and slogans into practice. If we keep electing our leaders on how loud they are, how much insults they can thrown and wave about, and masculine we think they are, then we are going to keep getting the same useless goons over and over again.

Welcome to the Coconut Republic of Sri Lanka.

    Aritha_spice:

I couldn`t agree with you more. Whether people like him or not, at this stage the only statesman we have left is Ranil.

He had the courage to tell the truth.

Some people were so greedy to get into high office at any cost. If we come out of this mess without losing half of the country that is a blessing.

Its unbelievable that people still want a ship-full of incompetent morons like Mahinda, Mangala etc as if they haven`t done enough damage to the country already.

Is it worth taking the country through disaster because an incompetent man who is incapable of telling the truth wants to be president?

Anyway it`s good, when this comedy is finished the LTTE would have thought very valuable lessons to some jackasses.

Couldn`t have happened to a nicer lot!

As it has very clearly shown now, Sri Lanka gets leaders the mentality of her people deserves!

    Good for them

They will loose again and again and again

How can a man who was named in the Balatanda killings also be the leader of a country

They do not get it? Do they?

  • 8 Jan 2006 16:23:37 GMT

    Wijeyesinghe:

When we have jackasses like you pretending to be journalists who thinks that naming someone proves their guilt.

Go, immigrate to Eelam. May be you`ll do more harm there; that`s the only way we can beat them!

    I can`t stop laughing at this :) :)

Wijeyesinghe, just in case you were living under a big foreign rock during the past 10 years, Ranil Wickremesinghe was acquitted by a Presidential committee of any involvement in the `killings` that you are referring to. Unlike our President who went so far as to make his Supreme Court buddy Sarath N. Silva to stop the CID inquiry on the Helping Hambanthota scam , in which he stole 83 million in poor people`s money (-i had to remind this to you just in case your ignorance is hindering your ability to reason), Ranil Wickremesinghe, as a true gentleman as he is, welcomed inquiries on the matter because it would PROVE to some small-time goons like JVP and some people here that we know :) that he is not one of them.

Wijeyesinghe ... could you remind us please:

Name all the accused in the Mulkirigala by-election shooting incident?

Who were the ring leaders in the 1971 insurrection?

Who were the ring leaders of the 1989+ southern bloodshed?

    Please answer these questions first.

After you have done that, you may respond to this:

Ranil has almost single handedly worked at changing culture of Sri Lankan politics. A gentleman (for those who understand what it means) who has demonstrated both sound strategic and tactical planning and execution capability. A straight talker who took the electorate into his confidence and painted the picture as he saw it (the true picture). Someone who did not put his election to office above honesty, integrity, truth of the situation.

The liars and damn liars, who sought to gain power and position at whatever cost (even went to the extent of saying what has been signed as an agreement was really not meant) now are gradually seeing the wisdom of the man Ranil.

Almost everything he said needs to be done and will be done, that was opposed by MR and his alliance supporters, are now gradually being embraced by them.

Its not surprising though. They do not possess vision, honesty and integrity - like Ranil. Rhetoric is all they have and can provide.

It will be a sad day if power hungry elements within the UNP sideline him. Hope they like their leader will put country before self.

Remember: the role of the opposition in a healthy democracy should not be discounted. Sri Lanka may not be an overly healthy democracy ... but what we have in place currently is partly due to what ever opposition we have. Do you remember who started agitating to hold the Presidential election when they were due ... Ranil in opposition.

At this critical point in the political affairs of the country ... more men and women of character are needed. Ranil is one of them.

U need to realize that this is comming from a man who thinks there are 109% voters in SL :) :). This is typical JVP mentality. They think - if they repeat the same lie over and over again, people will believe them. ANd you have to admit this much, the JVP has succeeded in it several times.

Idiotic Sri Lankan voters deserve what they got although many of them yet realize the ride they`ve been taken.

Back in Sri Lanka, we could still hear on National TV Wimal Weerawansa criticizing the CFA whenever attacks on security forces take place. After convincing the gullible public of this theory, he fires another barrage of accusations at Ranils direction. People like Wijesinghe are fully convinced. Yes. Everything is Ranil`s fault...

    They never accuse LTTE...

    They never provide a solution...

    Accusations and more accusations...

PS: I still remember some people stating that they support MR for the conditions we can not even imagine. What a mistake. lol
