    Mahavira families ?

    The new high caste ?

    Hello Kandappa,

Not tamils we sinhalese can`t live in over country because of so called `Mahavir` families.

  • 3 Jan 2006 23:50:58 GMT

The wanni butchers are deploying their `coolies` to get their supporters out of Jaffna with the hidden arms of the ltte.

    Funny bed fellows!

If the war is imminent, where will the population of Kilinochi go, when the SLAF starts bombing the bunkers and other military targets of the `children`s army`?

Praba-karume and his close friends will hide themselves like rats in bunkers while `child soldiers` will be in the forefront to receive SLA bombs!

They deserve GOSL bomb attacks, as for the tigers, these are `soldiers` even if they are `children`!!

Are there still Tamil mothers to weep for their abducted children????

    Mr. Prabakaran,

The war you are going to start again will put the Tamils in the country form Frying Pan direct to blazing Fire. Please re-think your stratergy.

You should also note that despite 20 year war, economy in south grew. It was slow groth but there was growth. But the living standards of tamils in N & E dropped drastically without proper access to Medicine, Shelter and proper Sanitation.

Please re-think your stratergy since you are not going to win any war overnight. The war would drag for years. In the due cause the Tamil community will suffer.

``You should also note that despite 20 year war, economy in south grew.``

i thought the economy only turned around after 2002. infact it was the hit on the economy that brought the UNP to the table. i am sure google can find the answer

`But the living standards of tamils in N & E dropped drastically without proper access to Medicine, Shelter and proper Sanitation. ``

why is this. its becasue there is an army thats occupying peoples houses, farms lands ,schools etc.

one can look at it two ways.

either GOSL brings up the standard of living in the N& E or the rest of the country will go down to the standard of living of people in the N& E. easy choice if you ask me.

    Aramis,

Your post has several factual errors. First of all saying economy grew 5% even after air-port and central bank attacks itself is wrong. In fact, after air-port attack the economic growth came down to minus one percent - first time after the independence.

Secondly, most areas of the Vanni does not have electricity. For your kind information GOSL does not provide any telephone facilities to Vanni or even Jaffna. This is done by private operators, mainly Dialog and they get paid for the services. So it is not a burden for tax payers.

Soon we have to sympathize for these idiotic wanni butcher sympathisers...heheheh...when they join in their coffins with the fellow barbarians...

    chao...

For brutal Tamil Tiger terrorists war is the only thing they know but for the government war is just a norther thing they well knowen to declear at any time, behalf of the sri lanka national integrity.

    Tamilcanuck

What i tried to mean is that before war, living standards in North and East and the rest of the courtry were on somewhat similar levels.

After 20 years of war, the living standards of south has increased where as the North and East has staganated without access to even basic human needs.

I agree with your two alternatives.

My openion is the GOSL in colaboration with LTTE should immediately set aside this dirty political game and look to increase the standards of those endlessly suffering people.

    It is possible.

Just a matter of changing the mindset.

    Jokiya,

thanks for understanding. probably till the 70`s the living standards were very similar to the south. (Colombo always had a higher standard so lets leave that out). when the liberation war started (Tamil grievences are listed here

the SLA and GOSL went on the rampage to destroy the daily lives on tamils in Jaffna. Jaffna Library (i am told one of the best in south asia and containing millin sof tamil literature) was burn in 81. Because LTTE and other groups were guerilla outfits at that time SLA took its revenge by attacking civilians. There were many yrs the population of jaffna lived without electricity.

the tamils who initially conducted peaceful demonstrations (similar to the ones that took place late Dec in Jaffna involving students) were met with force. tamils realised that force was required to meet force. hence the birth of the movements. initiallly the numbers were small but 83 provided the catalyst. sometimes there is no gain without pain.

when the CFA was signed things went back to near normal in the south. road blocks came off, economy started to pick up etc but the N & E were left behind. add to that the Tsunami disaster and whatever funds GOSL got from the IC to be delivered to the N & E has been bocked by the Supreme court

unfortunately this situation has got to be reversed and should be done fast. Tamils dont have time (TDHT) to wait for another decade for solutions. MR has beem clearly told by India & the IC to go for `genuine` peace talks and he should grasp it with both hands. the consequences spell disaster to the entire population of the island.
