UNP will ensure peace in country ? Ranil
Wednesday, 22 June 2005 - 3:08 AM SL Time

The UNP will ensure that peace will prevail in the country with all ethnic groups living as equals and no single ethnic group will be allowed to dominate another, UNP and Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe said at Kalmunai on Saturday last week.

In the peace process the UNP will launch when it comes to power Muslims will have the same privileges at the peace talks as in the past, he said.

He said the Presidential election should be held in November this year like the snap General election held after the forcible take over of three ministries of the then UNF government and the UNP was now holding rallies across the country to educate the people.

`When the ceasefire agreement was signed with the LTTE, I was accused of being a traitor to the country, but I consulted the SLMC leader Rauf Hakim as well as the UNP parliamentarians before the ceasefire agreement was signed,` he said.

At least Ranil has backbone to maintain his view and vision, unlike CBK, Mahinda Rajapakse or JVP.

Yeah Ajan, you are very correct--- CFA has opened the doors----yeah to disruption of the sovereignty , to many deaths of Sri Lankan Intelligence officers in the South of the country,to the freedom of LTTE, to gain international support for the LTTE,,,etc.
P Ranil should be held responsible for all these. Now that nutty dumber is talking about peace. By any chance has he forgotten about the gold chains and bracelets for the youth as he always promised.
He should be sent to hell along with CBK for the damage that these suc*ers have done to the nation.
P Ranil, isn't it better for you to go home and sleep nicely along with your idiotic bunch without further demonstrating your stupidity to the world.
And Sumudu what are you talking about his back bone and this jokers view?
At first he told CBK, to go ahead with the JM but now he is against it is it his view?
Even Joseph Michel P. has told in a rally they will support the JM though they are not aware of its content. Is this the UNPs policy?
Talk with your mouth man--- not from the other side---

Sniper , it is not LTTE army inteligent died, some of LTTE also died namely kousalyan and there are many more. if peace process haven't started it Srilanka would have seen much worse of LTTE. ( Katunayaka was a small example , in the view of you LTTE was ditroying national asset. in the view of LTTE it was to distrupt the economy and push the leaders of governments to come to talk. they have tried all other ways. tamils felt that this nationala assets are throwing oil to the flame of their suffering ( economy is contributing the funds to purchase wepons to kill and damage tamils property and people) therefore it must be stoped.

it was LTTE declared the cease fire with ranils government. they have done so to all leaders. but they all wanted to fight. if there is a war all ministrs can make money.( By arms dealing, everything un organised noone there to ask questions) now there is no war some minister even question CBK dogs spendings. it is not bad. when it comes it is public money they should be accounted for. if there is war country will borrow to fund the war.
when army soldiers dies Government say Missing in action that way they can escape and they dont have to pay any compansation.

sniper your name sounds you are a arm dealer.. how much money you made in the last 5 years? maybe not much . now you want war to start so that you can make lots of money.

Common Kadi that?s too much for p Ranil to handle...by the way I promised to Anizam and some other UNP ers not to bring the issue of Ranil's child in to the political debates...so I ll keep my word on it...so Kadi next time please don't mention about p Ranils child there are some people who gets really wild over it...

By the way SNIPER don't be so hard on p Ranil there are some people in this column(pro LTTEers and some others like Ani...) who really worship him daily...so they will be really hurt by your comments...

Kadiya :

'You sign the damn CFA,that affected the nation and also brought the country to this pathetic situation,'

Duh!

Affected the nation? Yeah, it brought in more badly needed foreign investement and tourists and the CFA turned the negative expansion of the economy in 2000, first ever in Sri Lanka's history, under CBK and Gang to close to double digits when UNF was in charge of the economy two years later.

Now, if you are one of those people who are hell bent on stopping Sri Lanka to improve even a bit then you fall in line with those FROGS of the JVP who can't see furthur than their own window and paddy bags.

pathetic situation :

Yeah. Several dozens intelligence operatives killed on both sides, who were spying, (and , for your information, spying is an offence even between friendly nations) versus thousands of innocent men and women killed in the conflict of war. And NEED i mention the economic cost of another Central Bank and Katunayaka type of attacks if the war continues as some mindless people would like?

Please Kadiya, choose between the two PATHETIC SITUATIONS if you will.

Cool down Kadiya...

You are capable of doing things of positive nature to your country.

Youth like you need to be thinking of positive things and devise measures to beat any and everyone of those whom you think have betrayed by your mental power.

You cannot think like an irrational and impulsive thug.

You have talent, use it to your own good and for the good of your country.

wishing you well.

Fairplay.
