SB to get Presidential pardon?

He should be pardoned. The punishment did not fit the crime.

It is far better for Lanka to keep people like SB behind bars forever. I fear he will be pardoned and back to his thuggish ways.

If SB Dissanayaka was under CBK`s umbrella he would not be in prison now. So dont talk about the judgement of supreme court. This was simply a politically influenced move by CBK to get SB behind bars. So the judgement by the supreme court is nothing but c@#$. SB should be released.

President should understand what kind of Idea does general public have about SB,he should not be grant pardon

  • 12 Dec 2005 14:12:29 GMT

Despite the allegation of corruption and all other crimes, he was sentenced to jail not for those crimes.

He was sent to prison due to political conspiracy between CBK and the Chief justice.

As magha said his punishment did not fit the crime.

No one else had been meted out such a punishment for a similar offense. He should be pardoned.

If he should be punished for any other crime, he should be tried for such crimes and punished through due legal process.

SB may be a model citizen but as mentioned in this thread before, he is in the prison for the wrong reason. So, why not nail him for the actual crimes he had committed? Then he`d have to be in side for more than two years for sure.

    Wooops.............correction, `SB may NOT be a model citizen................`
