This is exactly what Shri Lankan Government does to World Bank and other lending countries. They borrow money to alleviate poverty of their citizens and the politicians pocket them. They spent some money on toys (weapons) so that they children (soldiers) can play (fight), they watch and enjoy it.

This news is not strange, however its amazing to see how it filters down the chain.

According to yesterday Standard published in London Our former president Chandrike supposed to have bought a Prince Edwards house for cool 10 million pounds.

This is socialism for you. wonder whether she inherited all this money from her family. Even Blair is trying to sell his flat bought for million as he could not afford to pay his mortgage.

who said SL is one of the poorest of the world. We are proud to be Sri Lankan. Aren`t we?

This is the first time A sri Lankan politician splashed out so much in a foreign country.

Mahinda is quite right. Those who did not repay the loans have to at least now nd with interest. What is wrong in that? It is all your and my money they stole!

Also the government should look in to the agreements with companies like Prima and Indian Oil, and feew others whose names I can`t now recollect why they should get subsidies. Why for example are other companies not allowed to import flour for bread? Why should that be the monopoly of Prima, and still get a subsidy fo rnot increasing the price? What economics is this? Why not break the monopoly to bring down the price? In my opinion no company should be given a monopoly on anything but let the market govern the prices.

Good thing but what will happen to the helping hambanthota scam??? What will happen to the Fraud where mangala Samara weera watched porn on the internet using lanka telecom credit cards???

  • 3 Dec 2005 00:24:42 GMT

This is all because of Ranil & the UNP.

They are the ones who gave the loan.

They only created the story of `helping Hambantota`.

They are the one who gave the deal to Indianoil.

Indianoil was not given subsidies to sell petrol lower than the cost.

They are not from India and they are not owned by the Indian Govt.

    Please cancel the agreement.

    Good Idea!!!
