LTTE plans two Heroes Day meetings in UK despite ban

Despite the LTTE being banned as a terrorist outfit in the United Kingdom, London-based LTTE theoretician Anton Balasinghan is expected to address the Tigers` Heroes Day celebrations on November 27 at the Alexandra Palace in London, Tamil sources said.
LTTE leader Velupillai Prabakaran`s annual heroes day speech will also be broadcast from the Vanni.
The Sunday Island learns that this year the celebrations will be held in two venues, one in Wembley Arena and the other at Alexandra Palace.
The LTTE, these sources said, have spent over One Hundred Fifty Thousand Sterling Pounds (`A3150,000/=) to hire these two halls.
As the LTTE remains banned in the UK, the reservation of the two venues were made by the British Tamil Association, a front organisation.
The British police moved in to prevent the Tamil Cricket Festival organised by the British Tamil Association citing their clinks with the LTTE last summer.
It is not known what action the British authorities proposes to take this time to stop the LTTE heroes day celebrations, which are illegal as the LTTE is a terrorist organisation banned in UK.
In the meantime, the LTTE in London have welcomed the victory of Mahinda Rajapaskse as the 5th Executive President in Sri Lanka.
A Tamil source close to LTTE hierarchy in London told the Sunday Island that the Tiger leadership was worried with no war in Sri Lanka as it was a struggle to keep their cadres in tact.
`With no war, the morale of LTTE cadres was low and a number of them have deserted ranks to get married and enjoy the freedom`, the source claimed.
`With Mahinda Rajapakse winning the election, even if there is no immediate resumption of war, they could at least recruit new fighters, train and keep them ready`, he said.
`As the JVP is the main ally of the new President, it will be easier for the LTTE leadership to convince its cadres that war is looming large`, he asserted.
The LTTE website, Tamilnet also referred to Mahinda Rajapakse as a `Sinhala hardliner`.
Director of the TBC Radio in London, Ram Raj said that the LTTE now finds it difficult to keep their cadres intact. He said during the past year, Thamilchelvam has said 122 times that the LTTE was going back to war but it never happened.
He claimed that the LTTE does not have a strong battalion. `It was the Eastern Province Tamils who fought for the LTTE before. Now, all of them are with Karuna. LTTE is only talking about the war to collect money`.
He said that they staged a demonstration against the LTTE in front of the European Parliament last week and a large number of Tamils living in Europe participated.
`LTTE cannot claim they are the sole representative of Tamils, who have had enough with the Tigers. They no longer want a war. Tamils want to distance themselves from the LTTE now. `It clearly showed when we staged the demonstration`.
He said Tamils living in Europe called his radio station to oppose the collection of funds by the LTTE. `This is a good trend which never happened before. Earlier, the Tamil people were afraid to talk against the LTTE`.
Raj said that since Mahinda Rajapakse won the election it is Ranil Wickremasinghe`s duty to support him to evolve a solution to the North-East conflict.

This is what's let for them, hold gathering and sob!
Like to see the attendance given that their kin were just disenfranchised in Jaffna. What away to seek justice. Edited By - ravi_r - 19 Nov 2005 20:53:28 GMT |

It will be very interesting on Nov 27th, if we can recognize whether V(iper) pabakaran or his double who talk.
I suppose, VP is not really in 'Avatar or 'Ghost' state now. |

The wanni butchers want to stage a 'S H O W D O W N' with the British government at the Alexandra Palace?
Has nobody reminded the wanni butchers that they are a banned terrorist organization in the UK?
Innocent Tamils & Muslims (if there any left!) in the unliberated areas (=by the SLA) should be given the task of expressing their views in a FREE & FAIR referendum to say whether they accept the iron fist rule of the self proclaimed terrorist 'leader', avathaar alias VP. It will be a stunning 'NO'. But this will never happen as elections are OPIUM of the VBTs.
There are no conflicts between the Sinhalese & Tamils. They live in perfect peace & harmony in all parts of the country. But there ARE conflicts between the wanni murderers and the National Armed Forces of the country!
Sri Lanka, like all other countries in the world, wants to eradicate terrorism. The tiger organization is banned in many countries as it is a notorious terrorist outfit!
All Sri Lankan Tamils are NOT terrorists. But all wanni butchers of the ltte are hardcore cyanide carrying Tamil terrorists!
Anton Bala is digging his own grave and that of his terrorist group in the United Kingdom by trying to outsmart the British government!
Well done, Bala.....
Tony Blair will never allow a banned terrorist organization to go above the law of the country. Perhaps Bala wants to take the British Premiership by ousting Tony???? Edited By - nandalal - 19 Nov 2005 23:34:38 GMT |

LTTE showed their democracy by banning tamils to vote in the election. EU knows this.
It is interesting to see whether British police allows LTTE to run fund raising meetings in England, so they can blow up more tamil teenagers to become maaveerers.
I suppose they are celebrating dead suicide bombers and killer squads. |

Thank you Patrioticson.
The solution must flow from myself. I am Sri Lankan for Sri Lankan and Tamil for Sinhalese.
Patrioticson, racism is not all bad. It has both sides - the good and the bad. Where we can influence from within, we need raise the level of thinking to the National level or if there is some kind of state system, to the State level. As a Tamil, I feel that the more we take the Objective approach through money-related projects, the less the risk of war. I do not know of one single Tamil who has expressed extreme animosity towards a single Sinhalese. It is more at the group level - blaming others when something goes wrong. Both sides are guilty of this. Tamils have suffered due to subjective decision making by the Sinhalese in government and higher positions. But that has changed vastly now, with more and more Tamils speaking out. If we can direct them to be objective, we would lose consciousness of this subjective group thinking which has failed. But when it comes to non-money related activities - or parts of the activities that are not related to money, we need to consciously divide ourselves as per ethnicity and vote on the issue.
This is not different to the voting for parliament system. We feel and vote - at least those who vote on the basis of Truth do. If we 'think' / calculate and vote - then we lose the value of 'subjective' system.
In my mind I voted for Ranil in the Presidential elections and in my mind, Ranil has won. Ranil will be president if he acts like one - irrespective of the position he holds.
The subjective system is based on Love which knows no logic and the objective system is based on Truth which has to have logic. But that 'secular' system tends to stagnate at the level of conscious education that people have. That is the world of thinkers.
Simply stated, the subjective system is the system of mothers and the objective system is the system of fathers. Mothers are feelers and fathers are thinkers. Those who experience pain first feel. Those who seek pleasures first are thinkers.
I recommend an educated and structured use of both which would include race based voting where majority have not invested consciously in an issue.
love
