Another Ministry to the list! SL is at the moment one of the smallest countries on the planet with one of the largest cabinets.

Bonggo the Ministry that existed before was not a sole ministry. Ranil is promising a sole ministry. Rate wadak nathuwa inna thawath booruwo tikakata laginna aluth amathyangshayak!

No no a sole ministry existed for the Muslim Religious Affairs, just like the Buddha Sasana, Hindu Affairs and the Christian Affairs. It was always run by a Minister with another cabinet portfolio. For instance M.H.M. Ashraff was Minister of Ports and Minister of Muslim Religious Affairs. It is not a new Ministry.

Now no one is holding this post. I think what Ranil meant was he will re-establish it.

Ha Pera .... there you go again, your qualities are coming out one by one. I did not know you are a donkey too! May be thats why Ranil kicked you out, you are not `ratu thol` anymore. Sin no!

Pera: `Aswar (sic) Booruwa` is now retired from politics and living solely on his pension money. Very few such retired politicians could boast of not making money despite being influential members of government.

Compare this with your leader (man from an influential family) who had complicity in dealing with money meant for Tsunami orphans. He then goes on to obtain a supreme court order to suspend investigations.

Compare this also with Ranil who requested the bribery commission to expedite investigations about the computer case and the commission has now cleared this allegation.

    What a shame!

A seperate (Deputy) ministry (Ministry of State for Muslim Cultural Affairs) was formed by Former President Premadasa in 1990 & it came under the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. The main purpose of the ministry was to look after the welfare of the Muslims in Sri Lanka.
