Only Mahinda can serve minoritry interests - Yapa

    Hellooooooo

Mahinda Rajapakse is a Tamil Catholic converted Singhala Buddhist. Is this why you guys think that he could maintain better relations with Minorities.

I am yet to see any True Singhala Buddhist representing the Singhala Buddhists of Sri Lanka in the political arena.

The first could be Weerawansa if he becomes the PM.

    Fairplay

MR is a Tamil Catholic converted Buddhist?????

What a guess by the brainless!

Perhaps minister Yapa needs to read Mahinda`s manifesto. That might give him some idea on why Mahinda is not going to get any minority votes.

    Mr Yapa

If what you say is correct why aren`t the minorities not buying it?.Wait until the votes are counted.Ranil will get over 98 % of the minority vote.Rhetoric might fool the majority communities certainly not the minority.

    Fellow forum-ites

What will be will be on the 18/11.

Can someone, calmly, without name calling, and getting emotionally worked up, elaborate on the following few points?

    1) Do you think the LTTE can be defeated militarily? If so why haven`t we been able to do so for roughly 20 years?

    2) If the LTTE is not fighting for a separate state (which they have done very effectively up to now) would you consider giving Tamils any form of autonomy to run their own affairs in the areas they predominate?

    3) Are the claims of discrimination by the Tamils justified?

    4) If by some magic the LTTE cease to exist, do you think the country as far as the ethnic issue is concerned can go back to what it was before the initiation of their violence, or do we have to handle the ethnic issue differently?

Regards to all, have a happy election.

    FAIRPLAY:

You said, Quote: [I am yet to see any True Singhala Buddhist representing the Singhala Buddhists of Sri Lanka in the political arena.]

I do not know whether you meant the same thing I think. But in my opinion, this is absolutely correct.

To clarify it further, we are yet to see someone with Sinhala Buddhist Idelogy (not necessarily a practising Buddhist) representing the Sinhala Buddhists of Sri Lanka.

Nandalal, for a change a good sensible posting with Sri Lankan perspective as a whole. If we can get over all those obstacles then it will be a real paradise. But regarding your statement `all citizens have faith in Mahinda`, it needs verification. Do you include SL Tamils as well or you have left them out? At the moment the Tamils have lost faith in all the politicians but once things become more Sri Lankan then why not? So carry on with your good work for unity.

Fairplay, I disagree with you. If MR is a Tamil convert then he should have had better wisdom, so I doubt your theory. Or is he playing dumb for the moment until he grasps the power and then show the colours to JVP, JHU and many other fools.

    Mucha,

I believe Mr Thilanga Sumathipala is a practicing Buddhist in Politics. He is the UNP organizer for Anuradhapura.

    Hic!!

    Cheers

What Yapa meant when he said `minority interests` was the interest money Mahinda collected from putting Helping Hambantota money in his private bank account...

What other interest would Mahinda possible having on anything?

These stupid journalists, they can never listen and get their facts straight!!
