Two errors wont make things right. Yet both have common grounds to share when it comes to many hilarious facts among Sodomy being top in the list. Lets make SL a transintimacyual paradise under both these guys. Mahinda too seems to have had a late conversion it seems.

Mangala, you are the man who suits mother lanka. Earlier you were having a nice time in the porno sites on state account. Now you are lifting your mother again on state account. What a shameless man you are. So all what you say in the public are just a-removed-and bull stories to hood wink the fools.Make hay while the sun shines. Even to do such things one should have guts. Imagine the guts one needs to say one thing and to do the opposite in public view. You must have taken tution from Kadir to make the maximum when the time is ripe.Carry on regardless.

Most of the politicians are corrupt now a days. We did not see it to this extent before 1977. In 1977 UNP under the leadership of JRJ coming to power had infested our country with corrupt polity ,which every party since then coming to power wants to have their share of the pie.

In a democratic society this abuse of power is enough for Indictment of a politician. It will not happen in our country until we get rid of the poverty of philosophy among the so called leaders of the country.

When the world renowned film director Satyajith Ray was having serious heart problems, the West Bengal Government of India mounted an elevator in the apartment complex where he was living. When I read about it in early 90`s I was so impressed about that simple gesture of acknowledging the immense contribution to world cinema by this great movie maker Satyajit Ray.

Our mothers and fathers are precious to us , but not to misappropriate government money as Mangala Samaraweera did. How come the Sri Lankan society is not fed up with these corrupt politicians? Shame on these bastards and who vote for them.

Well nobody should take to task old Ma. Samaraweea who is a graceful lady for the stupid behaviour of her off spring.

Old lady should not have allowed wastage of public of funds on account of her however.

Is there any leader with a `KONDA` to take the Chief Accounting Officer to trial for the utter disgraceful act?

    Not in Sri Lanka.

    Aho Lanka!

Well Done Mangala. You are such a Loving son. Wish my son would be like YOU someday. If all moms wanted lifts to travel upstairs, lifts will be as common as cars. But then other sons dont have Govt. money to waste away.

What do your New Found Political pals say about this?

Egollo Meka Hela Dakeeda? May be theyll send all their moms to live with yours.Any way you are making it SOOOOOOOOO eaaaasy for MR to do his campaign. He must be a very Happy man with all this.

How you can say its wrong when a ministry spent some money to upgrade its properties. Its not private property and as the Minister has said he wont take it home when he leave. Its for the use of the next minister.

If the govts can pay for airlifts,5 star medical facilities to terrorist leaders who destroyed the country`s past, present and future what is the wrong with upgrading a govt building.

People speak the truth.Don`t try to mislead the forum.

Does Mangala Samaraweera believe that state funds, whether for official or private reasons, are meant for decorative purposes? It is bad enough that he has a history of using the money of our tax payers for paying for online internet porn sites, redocrating his offices and now installing elevators for his mother to go up one flight of stairs. It is nice to see that he is concerned over his mother`s welfare, but in that case he should use his own money or find his mother a bedroom downstairs! Government funds of poor tax payers is not meant for the welfare care of one`s own family, but for the people whom you represent.

As much as I thoroughly dissapprove of this callous spending of our money for Mr. Samaraweera`s austentacious desires, and his cheeky reasons for doing so, althought he certainly deserves some form of reprimandment, I do not, by any means respect or approve the opinions of some members of this forum that have thought right to take out their frustrations and anger at Mr. Samaraweera from the entire Gay community. Some of the generalisations I have read in this forum are absolutely appalling. To label gay men as sodomites and to perceive them as merely intimacyually focused beings is absurd and unacceptable in this day and age where we have realised and accepted the valuable contributions made by the gay community to our society and the need to further their protection against homophobic elements that have continuously worked against this harmless community.

In any matters, the corruption of a Minister should not be attributed to his intimacyuality. That is of absolutely no concern to the public who our representatives or any other person in general, is sleeping with. Equating Mr. Samaraweera`s absurd antics with his intimacyuality certainly sets off the precedence that the vast majority of Sri Lankan politicians (who are heterointimacyual), are corrupt because they are heterointimacyual. Which is only more than absurd to talk about.

So let`s learn to respect gay men and women, and keep this out of politics.

Well said & thanks for an enlightening piece, though I disagree in one aspect.

JR J`s advent with such huge margin in 1977 is due to corruption & mismanagement for the precedent 7 years and not since. And JRJ did too little to stem corruption during his tenure.
