Almost 100,000 people have been arrested in Sri Lanka during a series of anti-drug raids under the campaign called “Nation United – National Drive.” According to a statement from Sri Lanka Police, a total of 99,540 individuals have been apprehended so far in this operation. Investigations have begun into illegal assets linked to 137 of these suspects. Additionally, the police have secured detention orders for 1,973 suspects and have sent 1,639 individuals to rehabilitation programs. During the raids, authorities seized 524 kilograms and 906 grams of heroin, along with 1,416 kilograms and 41 grams of crystal methamphetamine, also known as ‘Ice.’ Furthermore, police confiscated 11 kilograms and 674 grams of cannabis, 199 kilograms and 864 grams of “Kush,” 121 kilograms and 962 grams of hashish, and 932,976 narcotic pills. The arrests were made during 100,247 raids conducted as part of these extensive anti-drug efforts.
