The Chief Magistrate’s Court in Colombo ordered today (02) that a drug haul valued at over Rs. 3 billion, which was recently confiscated by the Sri Lanka Navy and taken to Dikkowita Fisheries Harbour, be sent to the Government Analyst for testing and a report. The Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) presented the 263 kilograms of drugs to the court under strict security, according to an Ada Derana report. The drugs were stored in 15 protective bags. After reviewing the details provided by the police, Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama instructed that the narcotics be analyzed by the Government Analyst and a report be generated. On January 25, 2026, the Sri Lanka Navy seized 109 kilograms and 422 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine, also known as ‘Ice,’ along with 112 kilograms and 258 grams of heroin, from a multi-day fishing boat carrying eleven suspected fishermen. Following the court's directive, the drugs were sealed and sent to the Government Analyst with oversight from the Court Registrar, as noted by Ada Derana.
