A suspect with 88 outstanding warrants was arrested by officers from the Athurugiriya Police on the 11th of this month. The arrest occurred in the Gajaba Mawatha area within the Athurugiriya Police Division after police received a tip-off. The 56-year-old individual, who lives in Wadduwa, is accused of scamming people by offering false job opportunities abroad, according to police reports. The warrants were issued by the Magistrates’ Courts in Moratuwa, Galle, Warakapola, and Panadura related to various money-laundering cases. The police in Athurugiriya are still investigating the matter.
