The Thai female tourist who walked half-naked through the Arugam Bay tourist zone was sentenced to one-and-a-half month’s jail term suspended for five years by Potuvil Magistrate A.L.M. Hilmy.
She was produced before court on charges of disorderly or indecent conduct in public and causing public nuisance. She was sentenced to a two-week jail term for the first charge and one month jail term for the second charge, suspended for five years after pleading guilty to the charges.
She was taken into custody by female officers of the Women and Children’s Bureau from the Pottuvil Police Station on Monday (14) when the woman was seen walking from one hotel to another hotel wearing only partial clothing.
