Someone had opened veteran actress Damayanthi Fonseka’s handbag while she was at the National Hospital, Colombo and stolen her cash, bank cards and national identity card.
The incident reportedly occurred while Ms. Fonseka was in a crowded elevator on her way to consult a doctor. Amid the congestion, a thief had discreetly accessed her handbag and removed the valuables without her knowledge.
Ms. Fonseka is the sister of late actress Malani Fonseka and the wife of renowned film director Prasanna Withanage.
