Sri Lanka is on the verge of launching satellite internet services through Starlink with all necessary government processes now complete, according to the Ministry of Digital Economy.
Speaking to Daily Mirror, a spokesperson from the Ministry of Digital Economy said that the country is ready to operationalise Starlink services as soon as it receives the required dashboards from the company.
“Deputy Minister Weeraratne confirmed that the Government has completed all necessary processes for the operational launch of Starlink. Once the requested dashboards are received from Starlink, operations can commence without delay,†the official said.
The announcement followed a high-level meeting in Singapore between Deputy Minister of Digital Economy Eranga Weeraratne and U.S. Department of State Coordinator for International Communications and Information Policy, Ambassador Steve Lang.
