The National People’s Power (NPP) has won a majority of seats in 200 out of 258 local government bodies where results have been released so far.
Among these, the NPP has secured an outright majority in 99 councils, enabling the party to form administrations independently, without any coalition support.
However, in several other councils where the NPP holds leading positions, Opposition parties collectively hold more seats, potentially complicating the party’s ability to form governing bodies.Â
In such areas, coalition-building or negotiations may be necessary for administrative control.
