Anudi Gunasekara, a Sri Lankan model and social activist, is set to represent Sri Lanka at the 72nd edition of the Miss World pageant, scheduled to take place in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, on 31 May 2025.
A passionate advocate for social change, Gunasekara’s Beauty with a Purpose project, titled ‘Saheli’, focuses on addressing period poverty in Sri Lanka.Â
Her initiative aims to improve menstrual health and hygiene for underprivileged women and girls across the country.
The Miss World 2025 pageant will be hosted in Hyderabad from May 7 to 31, with contestants from 140 countries expected to participate in the prestigious global event.
Gunasekara’s participation marks a proud moment for Sri Lanka, as she prepares to showcase the nation’s beauty, culture, and commitment to humanitarian causes on the international stage.
