Two persons have died and around 40 others have sustained injuries following a head-on collision involving two private buses in Minihirigama, Minneriya this afternoon (01).
The accident was a result of a private bus heading towards Polonnaruwa from Colombo colliding head-on with a bus arriving from the opposite direction along the Habarana-Polonnaruwa main road.
The injured have been admitted to the Hingurakgoda and Polonnaruwa hospitals.
