LNP – CEB urges rooftop solar owners to switch off inverters

In a move to maintain the stability of the national power grid during the festive season, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has issued a special request to rooftop solar system owners across the country.

In an official announcement released today, the CEB urged solar users to voluntarily switch off their solar inverters until 3:00 PM today (12) citing an unusually low electricity demand observed in the system.

“To ensure the reliable and stable operation of the national grid during the festive season, the Ceylon Electricity Board kindly requests rooftop solar system owners to voluntarily switch off their solar inverters today until 3:00 PM due to the significantly low demand observed in the system,” the statement read.
