The pilot project to introduce card payment options on expressways is set to be launched this week, the Ministry of Transport and Highways announced.
The trial programme will be conducted at the Kottawa and Kadawatha interchanges, allowing commuters to make payments using debit or credit cards, as well as through QR code scanning.
If the pilot phase proves successful, the Ministry is expected to expand card payment facilities to all expressways in Sri Lanka by May.
