Colombo Chief Magistrate Tanuja Lakmali, today issued a warrant on Asha Basnayake, the third witness in the case related to the alleged forcible removal of the crown from Pushpika De Silva, the winner of the Mrs. World pageant held at Nelum Pokuna Theatre in Colombo in 2021.Â
The case has been filed against former Mrs. World Caroline Jurie and model Chula Padmendra as suspects.Â
Previously, the second witness, Chandimal, had already testified before the court. Asha Basnayake was summoned to testify in the previous court session, and a notice was issued to her. However, as she failed to appear in court, the magistrate issued a warrant for her arrest.
