The officers of the Sri Lanka Customs have arrested a polish national at the Bandaranaike International Airport with a stock of cocaine worth over Rs. 245 million.
Customs Media Spokesman Deputy Customs Director (Legal Affairs) Sudatta Silva said the passenger, a 60-year-old Polish national, had come from Colombia to Doha, Qatar and then to Colombo.
The officers of the Narcotics Control Division of the Sri Lanka Customs, who became suspicious about his luggage, have found 5 kg of cocaine carefully hidden among the rolls of paper in an old fax machine in his luggage.
After arresting the Polish national and the drugs he has brought, the officers of the Customs Narcotics Control Division have handed them over to the officers of the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigations.
