A total of 202,000 Pfizer vaccines arrived from Doha at the Bandaranaike International Airport on a Qatar Airways flight last night, authorities said.
These vaccines were first flown from Amsterdam in the Netherlands to Doha in Qatar.
From there, the consignment had been airlifted to the BIA onboard Qatar Airways’ QR-8040 cargo plane at 07.13 pm last night.
The vaccine stocks were weighing 1,204 kilograms and is packed in 35 boxes.
After unloading the consignment, it was taken to the Sri Lanka Pharmaceuticals Corporation’s Central Warehousing Complex in Colombo by refrigerated lorries.
