Sri Lanka Tourism has geared up to unveil the second edition of ‘Couch Safari’ by live-streaming the Wilpattu National Park for the global audience.
A virtual tour of the Wilpattu National Park is scheduled for 24 and 26 September to promote the wildlife of the island nation while offering a glimpse of the experience the destination has to offer once fully open for tourists.
The initiative is conceptualized by Sri Lanka Tourism, Department of Wildlife and Conservation together with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
The project also aims to improve Wilpattu National Park’s management capacity with emphasis on the Park Operations, Environmental and Visitor Use Programmes, in technical and specialist terms, in support of the Wilpattu National Park Management Plan (2019-2024).
Presented by wildlife experts in Sri Lanka, the first live streaming of Wilpattu National Park is scheduled for 24 September 2021 4.00 PM- 5.00 PM IST (+5.30 GMT) and the second live streaming will take place on 26th September 2021 7.30 AM -8.30- AM IST (+5.30 GMT).
The program will also be live-streamed on the Giz Sri Lanka Facebook page (www.facebook.com/GIZSriLanka).
