Singer Sri Lanka yesterday announced the appointment of Mahesh Wijewardene an Executive Director/CEO with effect from November 1, 2018.
Wijewardene is replacing Asoka Pieris, who was Singer Sri Lanka CEO for little over eight years.
A stock exchange filing by the company said Pieris relinquished his duties with effect from October 31, 2018.
Wijewardena joined the Singer Sri Lanka board as an Alternate Director on 2006 and was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer with effect from July 1, 2018.
He holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Southern Queensland and Diploma in General Management from the Open University of Sri Lanka.
Wijewardena also served as Director Sales and Commercial of Singer Sri Lanka, Director of Singer Digital Media (Pvt) Ltd. and Singer Business School (Pvt) Ltd.
He is also a past Chairman of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce – Import Section and Sri Lanka
