“Government will continue till 2020” – Min. Rajitha Senaratne

Cabinet Co Spokesperson Dr. Rajitha Senaratne was questioned regarding the 100-day program of the government at the cabinet media briefing today.

Minister Rajitha Senaratne said that the 100 day program was created through a group effort and received contributions from people such as Ven. Rathana Thero, Asoka Abeygunawardene, Min. Champika Ranawaka, Civil Society representatives and even himself. Min. Senaratne noted that during the period when the document was formed, President Maithripala Sirisena had handed over the campaign activities to Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Minister Senaratne reiterated that both the UNP and SLFP must continue with the unity Government and rejected claims made by the Joint Opposition that the government would implode in around two months.  The Minister reiterated that the current administration would continue till 2020.
