SLFP Central Committee to discuss remaining with UNP

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party says the Central Committee will convene next week to arrive at a decision pertaining to remaining with the United National Party in the national government.

State Minister AHM Fowzie speaking to NewsRadio said several concerns arose during the period in the unity government between the two groups.

The State Minister noted the understanding was to remain with the UNP in the government for a period of two years.

Fowzie stated the President called for the government to remain with the UNP until the 31st of December following which a decision will be reached.

Accordingly the Central Committee of the SLFP will convene to discuss the matter.
