Parliamentarian Wijepala Hettiarachchi says persons involved in crime and corruption who have been granted an opportunity to contest the upcoming Local Government Election should be defeated.
Speaking to media in Galle the MP said voters should take all steps to defeat the Sri Lanka Podu Jana Peramuna at the elections.
MP Hettiarachchi claimed all candidates of the UNP, are educated, intelligent and honest.
However MP Hettiarachchi stressed that he is aware of certain individuals who were involved in illegal tenders and other fraudulent activities contesting the election through other party tickets.
He called on the public to cast the vote against corruption.
