The Sri Lanka Freedom Party has decided to contest alone for the 93 Local Government bodies that begin accepting nominations today.
Speaking to NewsRadio Minister of Labour WDJ Seneviratne said discussions are continuing with the Joint Opposition pertaining to the possibility of contesting the Local Government Election together in the remaining Local Government bodies.
General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom party Minister Duminda Dissanayake says the party will contest the Local Government Election at the 93 bodies under three methods.
Minister Dissanayake said the SLFP will contest 30 authorities under the hand symbol, 60 authorities under the betel leaf and 3 bodies under the symbol of a minority party.
