The case filed against United People’s Freedom Alliance Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa and five others for illegally generating cash amounting to 30 million rupees in a transaction carried out between a company owned by MP Rajapaksa and another firm will be taken up for hearing once again today.
The case will be heard before the Colombo High Court.
The Attorney General during the previous hearing requested Court to proceed with the case despite the absence of two defendants.
The state attorney informed Court that two defendants in question Indika Prabath Karunajeewa and Irosha Silva are absconding Court hearings.
Accordingly Court ordered the attorneys to table evidence in this regard when the case is taken up for hearing today.
