Demonstrations block Kandy-Colombo main road in Kiribathgoda

Two demonstrations, being staged by two opposing groups, in Kiribathgoda have blocked the Kandy – Colombo Road.

Police said the demonstrations are held in support of Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka and against him.

The protest, supporting Minister Sarath Fonseka saw the participation of several UNP supporters.

Expressing views, Field Marshal Minister Sarath Fonseka stated that one should not be sympathetic towards those who committed crimes during the war.

Several MPs representing the Joint Opposition took part in the protest staged against Minister Sarath Fonseka’s statement, near the Vijaya Wimalarathna statue in Kiribathgoda.
