A Pakistani national was arrested by customs officials at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake, for attempting to smuggle 376 grams of heroin into the country.
The 54 year old suspect had arrived from Bangkok by flight UL407 at 11.20pm last night (6), Customs Media Spokesman Sunil Jayarathne said.
He was apprehended by BIA Customs Narcotics unit with 376 gms of heroin valued at Rs. 3.7 million concealed in the inner metal frame of his hand luggage.
