Programme to develop roads in Uva, Northern and Eastern provinces

The Road Development Authority (RDA) has arranged a special programme for the development of roads in the Northern, Eastern and Uva provinces.

The Minister of Higher Education and Highways affirmed that the programme would be implemented with monetary aid supplied by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The bank has reportedly supplied USD 900 in the form of fiscal aid.

The new programme aims to maintain and repair roads under the domain of the Northern, Eastern and Uva Provincial Councils.

The Ministry further stated that repairs of roads of the Uva Province would be commenced before the end of the year, under the initial stages of the programme.
