Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe who is engaged in a visit to New York has met Commonwealth Secretary General Patricia Scotland. Prime Minister’s Office announced today that the meeting between the Premier and the Commonwealth Secretary General was held at the United Nation’s Permanent Representative’s Office. Several matters which are mutually important for Sri Lanka and the Commonwealth have been discussed during the meeting. In addition, Prime Minister Wickremesinghe has extended an invitation to Commonwealth Chief Patricia Scotland to visit Sri Lanka as well. Deputy Commonwealth Secretary General and Head of Natural Resources Unit of the Commonwealth were also present at this meeting.
