IS SRI LANKAN GOVERNMENT`S CONSCIENCE PRICKING ?
The spokesman of the Sri Lankan government has now said that General Fonseka will be released from the prison shortly. Of course, many persons who suspected Sri Lankan government`s action when it arrested General Fonseka would also now suspect Sri Lankan government`s action when it would release him.
One cannot see any reason as to why the Sri Lankan government would release the former army chief now , if the reasons that it cited earlier for his arrest were true. Sri Lankan government has not come out with any credible explanation for its present move. People are left guessing and now rumour mongers have a field day.

The Sri Lankan people`s long awaited happiest moment finally arrived this afternoon at about 4.45 p m when the former Army Commander General Sarath Fonseka emerged from the Welikada prison to the outside as a free man to resume his life of freedom.
Because there were large crowds along with the media thronging the main door of the prison, he had to face some difficulties to come out. ` I will dedicate my life to your cause. I shall come to meet all of you. Please wait until then.` After making this announcement Fonseka went back into the prison and through its rear door came out again . After getting into an open jeep , he appeared before the crowds to address them. He said , he was a victim of vicious venom and vengeances . He would absolutely commit himself to saving the country from the holocaust it is headed, and rescue the country from the raging corruption. This country which was saved along with the assistance of the soldiers shall be transformed into a country where all can live happily , he observed . I know how much all of you are suffering. I cannot forget that .. Even if I am incarcerated for 10 years my resolve and courage cannot be diminished or dimmed- not for all the world !
