The Metamorphosis of Dilshan
April 23, 2011, 7:54 pm

by Neil Perera

The article that appeared in The Island of 21st April titled `Country before Money says Dilshan` indicates the apparent metamorphosis of Dilshan, who for all intents and purposes appeared to be a maverick in the cricket arena and gives us cricket lovers a glimmer of hope that Sri Lanka Cricket will recover from the depths of ignominy it has fallen in recent times. We only hope that Dilshan will go a step further and put more responsibility into his batting and reveal to the world that he is a far better batsman than his records show.

IPL: The land where player priorities forgotten
April 26, 2011, 9:57 pm

Same old monster which sent shivers upon the spine of cricket enthusiasts around the world, barring India, has raised its ugly head again. Heard around every corner of the town since 2008 for its unmatched potential to disrupt a cricketer`s thought process, scarily enough IPL has risen to the mountain where calling shots among the ICC is a mere formality. Aided unerringly by the misled spectator`s thirst for instant entertainment, this version of cricket which is surplus to requirements for the survival terms of cricket has no clear depths of spreading the virus.
