Revisiting: Frederica Jansz and the white flag drama (on the day of the verdict) dedicated to Laliths and AnuD

The issue of the `while flag` needs more probing, since it is being reduced to simplistic proportions. Now where did this story originate? Who used this term? And, most important of all, who gave it international publicity, which supposedly woke up Ban Ki-Moon from his sleep and made him indulge in his now famous antics in our regard? To whom did the story serve most? The source was foreign. When the end of the LTTE was well-nigh and foreign powers were getting jittery about the fate of the top ranking terrorists, some foreign personality called up our defence establishment, and wanted to know how they could surrender. A top man of ours replied that it might be too late, but advised the terrorist cadres concerned to come out with a white flag and give themselves up to the army. Where was SF when this happened? He was not in the country. So, he had no first hand knowledge of this, and whatever he heard on the subject was purely and simply `hearsay`.

The verb troll originates from Old French troller, a hunting term. The noun troll comes from the Old Norse word for a mythological monster.

Wednesday, 30 November 2011 - 4:51 AM SL Time

America is opening up a new warfront and it`s in your own backyard. It`s in your neighbor`s house, it`s three states over and it`s on the other side of the Mississippi.
That`s what a new legislation could lead to and the consequences are dire and constitutionally damning.
The United States Senate is set to vote this week on a bill that would categorize the entire USA as a battlefield, allowing law enforcement duties to be dished out by the American Military, who in turn could detain any US citizen as a war criminal even coming into their own homes to issue arrests.
