The `WAVING FLAG` through the eyes of Sri Lankan Tamils.
Monday, 2 August 2010 - 8:13 AM SL Time

The Tamil Diaspora is exposing all these tyranny because they love their Eelam Tamil homeland, the place of their origin. Lord Byron said He who loves not his country, can love nothing . Tamils love peace and love freedom and want self rule for themselves in their traditional homeland of the North and East of Sri-Lanka.

And how can man die better
Than facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his gods .

Sri Lanka s disturbing actions met by deafening global silence .The Global statesmen are concerned about the detention of an estimated 8,000Tamil youth without charge or access to legal representation or independent monitors in the Sinhala Torture camps.
Wednesday, 4 August 2010 - 7:06 AM SL Time

The Sri Lankan government`s clampdown on domestic critics and its disdain for human rights deserves a far tougher response according to The Elders. While welcoming the end of the decades-long civil war, the Elders say that meaningful progress on reconciliation in Sri Lanka is still desperately needed. They describe the international response to Sri Lanka`s worrying approach to human rights, good governance and accountability as a `deafening global silence` that may encourage other states to act in a similar way.

A Sinhala Refugee claimant stunned onlookers in Christmas Island. In order to escape the deportation to Sri Lanka, he climbed up on a light pole wearing Amude, the Sinhala national dress. Incidentally climbing up on a tree is the Sinhala Traditional game
Thursday, 5 August 2010 - 7:24 AM SL Time

Our Sinhala friends in this forum want everyone to believe only the Tamils are claiming Refugee status and all the Sinhalayass in America, Europe, Japan and Australia are highly qualified legal immigrants. I think either they are in denial or they are just out right racists who want to bad mouth the Eelam Tamils who are trying to escape Sri Lanka to save their lives from the all-Sinhala Armed forces, State sponsored ethnic cleansing, emergency rule, kidnapping, rape, mass graves and above all the legendary Sinhala racism.

The Muslims protested against Minister Champika who said that the Muslims are aliens to Sri Lanka. A Muslim poodle of the Sinhalese who claims that he has the same minister on speed dial doesn`t even know what the minister said about his own community.
Tuesday, 10 August 2010 - 7:53 AM SL Time

Colombo Muslim businessmen shut down their shops and held a demonstration before Maradana Jumma Masjid mosque in protest of Minister of Environment and Natural Resources CHAMPIKA Ranawaka who DEMEANED Muslims through his statements and also against government that had not taken action against him.

The Movement for the Protection of Muslim Rights organized the agitation. The Chairman of the organization Mujiber Rahuman said to `Lanka-e-New` that Minister Ranawaka had said that the Muslims are aliens of this country who should be grateful to the kings who granted them land. Rahuman said the Minister had made similar statement in several occasions in the past.

The Sinhala war against the Tamil`s history and culture. The Sinhalese want to build a huge hotel in the vicinity of the most revered historic Temple of Tamils in the capital of Jaffna kingdom to further desecrate and destroy the Tamil heritage.
Wednesday, 11 August 2010 - 10:01 AM SL Time

Anuradhpauram is the cultural capital of the Sinhala Buddhists , similarly Jaffna is the cultural capital of the Eelam Tamils. The same racist Sinhalese who dismantled and destroyed Anuradhapuram Kathiresan Temple, once venerated by Swamy Vivekananada himself, for being situated near the Buddhist places of worship, are planning to build a huge five start hotel in Nallur to further desecrate the historic Nallur Temple, the capital of Jaffna kingdom and the cultural center of the vast majority of Jaffna Tamils.

The Sinhalese and their Tamil surrender agents want the Tamils to forget about the war crimes but 57 US lawmakers call for war crime probe in Sri Lanka.
Thursday, 12 August 2010 - 9:35 AM SL Time

Expressing strong concern over the post-conflict situation in Sri Lanka, a group of 57 US lawmakers have asked the Obama administration to call an independent international probe into alleged war crimes.

The group said such an investigation is in the best interest of the US and the people of Sri Lanka to ensure a lasting peace following a quarter century of ethnic conflict.

`... SUCH A PEACE CAN ONLY BE REACHED ONCE THE TRUTH ABOUT THE PAST IS UNDERSTOOD` the Congressmen said in a letter to secretary of state Hillary Clinton.

Thillaiyadi Valliammai, the embodiment of Indian freedom struggle. The concept of Indian `TRI COLOUR` solely belongs to her. So many Tamils spilled their blood for India`s freedom but India and Hindians helped the Sinhalese spill Tamil blood.
Saturday, 14 August 2010 - 8:34 AM SL Time

Her short span of life did not deter this courageous Tamil girl from leaving an impressive imprint in India`s history of freedom struggle. The concept of Indian `TRI COLOUR` solely belongs to her. No wonder Mahathma Gandhi, the Father of Nation, had held her in high esteem.

A South African Tamil lady named Thillaiyadi Valliammai. She worked with Gandhi in his early years when he toned his nonviolent methods in South Africa, fighting the apartheid there. It is these techniques that he would later use in India against British colonial rule. Valliammai joined Gandhi*s movement at the age of 16 and died during the anti-apartheid agitation. Gandhi said that her sacrifice increased his resolve to fight.

Sarath Fonseka who caused death and misery to thousands of Tamils is languishing in Jail. Should we Tamils celebrate or forgive him and be sorry for the guy who betrayed, backstabbed by his own people and victimized by vicious state sponsored propaganda
Saturday, 14 August 2010 - 11:42 PM SL Time

The North, nursing its physical and psychological in silence, is unlike to forget the key role Gen. Fonseka played in the Fourth Eelam War. Will the South remember or forget? Will the Southern society accept whatever `anti-truths` the regime dishes out, in a collective exercise of `consciously inducing unconscious`?

Will the Sinhala supremacists, who once hailed Sarath Fonseka as a hero, remember the past, now that according to the Rajapakse worldview he is not a hero and could not have been, since he is rank-less and honour-less? Will the absolute majority of Sinhalese who danced on the streets and ate kiribath to celebrate the victory over the Tigers, spare a thought for their former idol or will he become as much of a non-person as the dead, injured and displaced Tamil civilians? Will the Maha Sangha who once venerated Sarath Fonseka condone this disproportionate and thus unjust sentence with their silence, as they condone injustice done to the minorities?

India at 63 . India Surrounded. The world s largest democracy finds its influence eroded by Chinese gains. It must stand firm.
Sunday, 15 August 2010 - 9:27 AM SL Time

As it approaches the 63rd anniversary of its independence day, India is under siege.

The world`s largest democracy a necessary cliche here is finally making impressive economic gains, and establishing itself as a tough-minded great power, in contrast to the tender-minded Nehru-Gandhi decades. But, largely for these very reasons, India finds itself confronted by dictatorial China or its proxies most notably, Pakistan on every side of the subcontinent.

Canada doesn t have a Tamil problem`. It is Sri Lanka that has a problem. Sri Lankan president`s triumphalist government has failed to make the country s large Tamil minority feel secure, people will continue to flee. -The TORONTO STAR.
Sunday, 15 August 2010 - 11:42 PM SL Time

Canada doesn`t have a Tamil problem, whatever critics of our refugee system may say about the arrival here of the cargo freighter MV Sun Sea with some 500 asylum-seekers. We processed 34,000 refugee claims last year these arrivals won`t overtax the system.

It is Sri Lanka that has a problem. President Mahinda Rajapaksa`s triumphalist government has failed to make the country`s large Tamil minority feel secure after crushing the Tiger insurgency last year. Until he does, people will continue to flee.

The Traditions and rituals of Jaffna Tamils. Today is the flag hoisting ceremony of the Historic Nallur Temple of Jaffna Kingdom.
Monday, 16 August 2010 - 7:50 AM SL Time

The Sinhala-Tamil conflict is as old as the history of the island. It is the outcome of the mutual fear and distrust the Sinhalese and Tamils have about each other. The Tamils feared that the Sinhalese, using their majority, would deny them, deny their legitimate rights and marginalize them. The Sinhalese feared that the Tamils, using the large population of Tamils in the neighbouring Tamil Nadu, would swamp them.

The Sinhalese claimed the island as their home and called the Tamils invaders and foreigners. They said Sri Lanka was blessed by Buddha thrice and wanted to preserve the island as the home of Theravada Buddhism. They said that the Sinhalese were the first humans to settle in Sri Lanka and hence the island belonged to them. They also said that the Sinhala race is found only in Sri Lanka and thus has to be preserved for the Sinhala people. You have Tamil Nadu. Go back, was the slogan the Sinhala revivalists shouted in the early part of the last century.

Auspiciously pouring water into a bottomless pot . I just noticed this, isn`t it a bad omen? Is it a sign of things to come?
Tuesday, 17 August 2010 - 8:46 AM SL Time

Please don`t blame me. I don`t know about the Sinhala beliefs, customs and traditions but in the Tamil tradition and beliefs pouring water into a bottomless pot on an auspicious day to start something is a bad, bad omen. I don`t know whose idea this is, but the Tamils won`t do it. I wonder why he didn`t just pour the pot of water on the auspicious time directly into that concrete pit. Why does the poor Sri Lanka need all these Olympic style gimmicks for an opening of a huge salt water pool built with borrowed money? :))

`I m less inclined to take Sri Lanka govt conclusions about who s on the boat and why they re there` says Bob Rae, MP, the Liberal Foreign Affairs critique and the former Premier of Canada`s richest and populous province of Ontario.
Wednesday, 18 August 2010 - 9:08 AM SL Time

Canadians have been caught up in the drama of the arrival of a small boat with 500 people aboard. They have travelled for several months on the Pacific Ocean, turned away in Thailand, Australia, and given the cold shoulder everywhere else until they reached the western shore of Vancouver Island, escorted by the Canadian navy.

Many have suggested that the ship should have been boarded and just turned away. Unfortunately these views have a terrible pedigree, and call to mind the fate of two other boats, the Komagata Maru and the SS St Louis.

A free Eelam federated with India as a separate state will ensure peace & prosperity which has been denied to us from the days of independence. Let`s face it, the Sinhalese are the historical enemies of the Tamils, we cannot expect mercy from our enemies.
Thursday, 19 August 2010 - 11:22 AM SL Time

Let us say Good bye to a decadent racist Sinhala Terror state of Sri Lanka and join India.

Eelam Tamils have to make a paradigm shift in their objectives. Tamils cannot live under Singhalese Buddhist majorityanism. Hundreds of thousands of Tamils are still languishing in concentration camps behind barbed wires. Tamil youth are being taken away from the concentration camps and killed. Young Tamil girls are being taken away and raped. The Sinhala Buddhists hegemony, Sinhala colonization and the Sinhala racism are threatening the Tamils thousands of years old existence in Sri Lanka, and the Sinhala skin heads are busy encroaching the lands and building Buddhist temples on the bombed out ruins of Hindu Temples and Christian churches.

Sinhala donkeys are trying to twist the poll but If 490 Kavum faces showed up in a dinky boat, the reaction would be worse than this. The whites can`t tell the difference between Sinhala Kavum faces & Demala curry faces even if their lives depend on it.
Saturday, 21 August 2010 - 8:58 AM SL Time

Some Sinhala donkeys are trying twist the poll conducted by a conservative anti immigrant Canadian Tabloid to badmouth the Tamils and show that the Canadians hate the Tamils. But the fact of the matter is, if the 490 migrants who came in a Dingy boats were the Sinhalese the reaction and backlash from the mainstream Canadians would have been much worse than this poll, because the Canadian public is aware of the uncompromising, unwilling, greedy, violent, racist and mean- spirited nature of the Sinhala Buddhist majority. They know this is the reason for the plight of Sri Lankan Tamils, the Sinhala racism, and the State sponsored Sinhala atrocities against the innocent Tamils which forced them to risk their lives and take this perilous journey.

A plea to the Goddess Kali Amma to punish those who act lawlessly and to ask for justice for her husband. Also to punish those who buried alive the Tamil children in their bunkers.
Monday, 23 August 2010 - 11:22 AM SL Time

Anoma Fonseka made an urgent plea to the Kali amma deity at the Modera temple on the 20th to ensure that justice prevails in this country where injustice is being perpetrated by the unjust rulers.

She petitioned that because of the grave injustice of the rulers, her husband is being denied just judgments being delivered in his favour. She claimed that her husband had been unlawfully abducted, unjustly prosecuted and unlawful judgments delivered against him so much so that even her husband`s Heroic achievements, medals, honours and privileges are being stripped. As she cannot expect justice from an unjust and corrupt rule, she is imploring the deity to save her husband and ensure that divine justice takes over.

Did the Sinhalass fail to market the atrocities of the LTTE? Why are they so reluctant to allow the outside world to see the plight of Sinhalese at the hands of Tamils. They want to play the victim card but don`t want the world to scrutinize that claim.
Tuesday, 24 August 2010 - 9:27 AM SL Time

Now some Sinhalass are wondering if they `FAILED TO MARKET THE `ATROCITIES` of the LTTE.` I heard the Sinhalese have a good sense of humour but this one shows that they are funnier than anyone ever imagined. The Sinhalese marketed the LTTE retaliations brilliantly and begged every country on earth. That`s how they got their help to destroy the Tamils in the name of fighting the LTTE.
Sadly there is nothing to market anymore. Now the world expects the Sinhalese to show some goodwill. But unfortunately they have none. :))

`No point in slamming the Tamils who fled Lanka`. The SL high commissioner in Canada does not mention that Sri Lanka is still under war time emergency provisions, which allows unlimited detention without court hearings for Tamils,`
Wednesday, 25 August 2010 - 10:47 AM SL Time

Chitranganee Wagiswara, Sri Lanka`s high commissioner to Canada, has claimed that the arrival of 492 Sri Lankan Tamils aboard the cargo ship MV Sun Sea is a `human smuggling operation with links to the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam.`

In a statement from Ottawa, she said the people behind this `organised crime` were the ones making wild allegations that `people are fleeing Sri Lanka, as the conditions prevailing in the country are deplorable and that Lankan Tamils are being persecuted, etc.`

The irony and contradiction- the third world Sinhala migrants and refugees become the allies of Neo Nazis, anti immigrants, anti refugees and conservatives who want to keep the ethnic minorities out of Canada including the Sinhala Kavum faces.
Thursday, 26 August 2010 - 8:55 AM SL Time

White supremacists are catching the media spotlight, labeling Tamil refugees as terrorists on national television, say anti-racism and immigration activists.

The groups are criticizing media for voicing the comments of Paul Fromm, widely regarded as one of Canada`s most vocal white supremacists. Fromm joined the Aryan Guard at a protest in front of Immigration Minister Jason Kenney`s constituency office in Calgary last weekend.

As the MV Sun Sea landed in Esquimalt on Aug. 11, Fromm organized a rally as the leader of the Canada First Immigration Reform Committee to denounce the arrival. In an earlier press release, he alleged that the boat had drugs and explosives on board.

All the ancient civilizations in the world have practiced animal sacrifice in their history. The Munneswaram Temple animal sacrifice is a proof of the unbroken tradition and antiquity of the indigenous Tamils in the island of Sri Lanka.
Friday, 27 August 2010 - 8:26 AM SL Time

`Animal sacrifice is the ritual killing of an animal as part of a religion. It is practiced by many religions as a means of appeasing a god or gods or changing the course of nature. Animal sacrifice has turned up in almost all cultures, from the Hebrews to the Greeks and Romans and from the Aztecs to the Tamils
Remnants of ancient rituals of animal sacrifice are apparent in many cultures, for example Spanish bullfights, or kapparos in Judaism, or the jallikattu (bull fighting) of Tamil Nadu, ritual slaughter procedures like shechita or ḏ abī ḥ ah in Judaism and Islam, respectively.`

Sinhala Child Monks-The underage poor Sinhala village boys, too young to understand religion or politics are being coerced into joining the Sinhala Buddhist chauvinist sects. Animal sacrifice is cruel but let us save the children before saving the Goats.
Saturday, 28 August 2010 - 10:04 AM SL Time

The system of dedicating children to the Temples and religion goes back many centuries. These children who are given away to the Temples at an early age are too young to understand the religion, politics or child abuse. The Hindu India not only banned the practice of animal sacrifice but it also banned the dedication of children at an early age to the Temples and monasteries. I think slaughtering animals in the Temples for religious purposes is cruel and primitive so is the dedication of young children to the Temples, monasteries, religious sects when they can`t even decide what to eat, how can they decide whether they want to become a monk or a layman. In my view that is more primitive and cruel and the Buddhist Sri Lanka`s political leader must pay attention to that, and stop this sordid practice.
