Breaking News: Gillard to become Australia`s first female prime minister as Rudd stands aside

Julia Gillard is to become Australia`s first female prime minister after Kevin Rudd stood down as Labor leader at a caucus meeting this morning.
Ms Gillard, not Mr Rudd, will now decide when to lead her party into the next election.
Mr Rudd, who made `a very gracious speech`, stood aside to avoid a humiliating defeat.
Treasurer Wayne Swan was elected deputy leader unopposed, Senator Michael Forshaw announced after the caucus meeting.
Senator Forshaw said it had been a very difficult time for Mr Rudd and the party.

A WOMAN who says she was fired from her banking job after male colleagues called her good looks `distracting` has asked human rights officials to investigate her case.
Debrahlee Lorenzana, 33, filed a complaint against banking powerhouse Citibank overnight with the state Division of Human Rights in New York.
A tearful Ms Lorenzana read a prepared statement explaining why she was a victim of sex discrimination.
In the statement, Ms Lorenzana claimed that she was not properly trained and that she was `a target` for her colleagues. She said she was a victim of sex discrimination and punished for speaking up.
