Mas Holdings held a charity fashion show `Light of Change` at the Waters Edge. Several popular Sri Lankan cricketers took to the ramp for the first time displaying casual and formal wear from Hameedias.

Welcome to Kandy, World Heritage city and in the heart of beautiful Sri Lanka. Arwi or Arabic-Tamil (ل س ا ن ا ل أ ر و ي lisā n-ul-arwī அ ர ப ு -த ம ி ழ ் arabu-tamil) is an Arabic-influenced dialect of the Tamil language written with an extension of the Arabic alphabet, with extensive lexical and phonetic influences from the Arabic language. Arwi was used extensively by the Muslim minority of Tamil Nadu state of India and Sri Lanka. As a spoken language it is extinct, though a few madrasas still teach the basics of the language as part of their curricula.

Sri Lanka to introduce nuclear energy

Baku-APA. The Sri Lankan government is planning to establish a nuclear power plant here to meet the growing demand for power in the country, a government minister said on Saturday, APA reports quoting Xinhua News Agency.
Champika Ranawaka, minister of Power and Energy said the government had already commenced prefeasibility study.
`We would express our proposal to France, Pakistan, India and Russia,` Ranawaka said, adding that the International Atomic Energy Authority would be consulted for the project.
