Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, in a booklet released today containing what he called a 25 year policy plan for the country, has suggested setting up of an Executive Prime Minister Post, a President who is responsible for safeguarding the Constitution and a clean political system and also setting up of a State Assembly that will formulate national policies.

He also suggested holding the general election, election of the Executive Prime Minister, provincial polls and local government polls on a single day.

in the post prbhakaran scenario,its now safe to reveal there were several attacks on the security forces...

the most serious of which was,what took place in mannar where a serious fire fight took place with a group of ltte cadres in land and sea in a failed effort of a group which attempted to make a landing on the mannr coast.there were a few attacks on forces personal in some other parts and several attacks took place in idp camps.all attacks were kept media shy fr obvious reasons.

an estimated 1700 odd ltte cadres are believed to be present in the jungles and the eastern leader col ram`s surrender plan was changed in the last minute following the killing of 11 of his cadres upon which he made his escape.
