Sridevi plays a young woman whom Kamal has come to `see` (a concept part of arranged marriage system..I think). She is asked to sing a song, picks this one and promptly forgets the lyrics halfway through. Kamal steps in and finishes it. It`s a beautiful song, and beyond musical qualities it brings out the girl`s shyness and embarrassment, and her reaction to her husband-to-be singing the rest of the song.

Yes we good singhalayas.I dont know patriot.We won war.Yes we have to sing baila and give thanks.Our army is great but how long now war is gone.Everyone tired.my army friends saying they want to go home war is finish they no fight any more.north is hot and not good.they never like it.
