Colour and Sexuality Thursday, 26 November 2009 - 5:01 AM SL Time

There is a lot of information around colours and the emotions they represent. Certain colours are associated with certain emotions for example red represents anger. But does favouring a certain colour have an effect on what you are attracted to? It is quite possible, as your sexuality is orientated around your emotions.

If we look at what each colour means, we can analyse the possibility of how that colour affects your sexual behaviour. White on its own is a representation of purity. In weddings the bride often wears white, as traditionally she is supposed to be a virgin and by wearing white she shows her purity and honesty. In some cultures it represents kindness, which is why within those cultures it``s worn at funerals.

Drawing Lines in the Sand Sunday, 15 November 2009 - 8:17 PM SL Time

Not many people around the world watched the inaugural season of Ukraine`s Got Talent on TV last spring. But since then, the winning performance a live sand drawing by Kseniya Simonova has received more than 7 million views on YouTube and won raves for its mesmerizing depiction of the Soviet Union`s fight against Nazi Germany. Gracefully manipulating handfuls of sand atop a light box, Simonova created ever-transforming images that were projected onto a screen: a bucolic village disintegrates into a war zone, a woman grows old waiting, her piteous face transforms into the Ukrainian monument to its Unknown Soldier.

Obama Girl is for the Best Candidate :)) Sunday, 15 November 2009 - 5:22 AM SL Time

With all the rumours going back and forth and the opposition thrashing around like headless chickens looking for an option to their likely prolonged stint in the political wilderness. Groundviews bloggers came up with the following, which if a candidate were to make part of his/her manifesto and pledge to uphold, we would unhesitatingly vote for.

For starters, pledge to make the moves to
---------------------------------
Revise the constitution
Abolish the presidency
Get the Constitutional Council in place

We talked,
We walked,
for a Moment in Time.

You passed through and left your mark.
You may never pass this way again,
Or you may stay for a lifetime.

No matter what,
I want to say thank you for the impression you made!

At 74 years old, Tosaka is not your typical bodybuilder. But he is well known in the Japanese bodybuilding circuit for his mastery at such an advanced age.

Unlike most competitors, he didn`t begin bulking up until age 40 when a friend introduced him to the sport. He hasn`t stopped since!

Hello Bombshell Thursday, 12 November 2009 - 6:00 AM SL Time

November 10, 2009, (Sawf News) - Victoria`s Secret new Miraculous Bra pushes up women`s busts 2 cup sizes, while its smoldering new commercial could push up men`s blood pressure by 20.

The `bombshell` commercial was shot by Transformers director Michael Bay and has VS angels like Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima and Doutzen Kroes writhing in colorful, not to mention, breast full bras and skimpy panties.

The commercial promises that the Miraculous Bra will turn heads which may well be the first understatement in any commercial.

Math Problem Tuesday, 10 November 2009 - 6:52 AM SL Time

This comes from 2 math teachers with a combined total of 70 yrs. experience. Here is a little something someone sent me that is indisputable mathematical logic.
It also made me Laugh Out Loud.
This is a strictly mathematical viewpoint...it goes like this:

What Makes 100%? What does it mean to give MORE than 100%? Ever wonder about those people who say they are giving more than 100%? We have all been to those meetings where someone wants you to give over 100%. How about achieving 103%? What makes up 100% in life?

Black Beauty, Glamour and Media Sunday, 8 November 2009 - 9:33 PM SL Time

Black is in. There is no denying that. If, in Hollywood, it was all about the white women being the stars of the shows and the movies then, and you rarely see black women and men in movies except as background actresses and actors, now, you see them all the time, and they are even the major characters of the movies.

Movies and Black Beauty
-------------------

There are so many African-Americans in Hollywood right now, all of them having their own unique looks. You have the likes of Halle Berry, a very beautiful and very powerful African-American black beauty. In fact, she is one of the popular actresses in Hollywood and has co-starred with many equally popular male actors. Others actresses are Jada Pinkett Smith and Whoopi Goldberg, among others.

Burgher Gee-No-Site :)) Saturday, 7 November 2009 - 9:40 PM SL Time

THE NAME
---------
A Burgher in Sri Lanka, formerly called Ceylon, used to refer to someone descended from employees of The Dutch East India Company (`Vereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie or The V.O.C.) the 17th and 18th century colonial rulers of the coastal regions of the island. There was, and still is, an organisation called `the Dutch Burgher Union of Ceylon` where the genealogies of some 200 of these families are maintained. However, over the last century, the term `Burgher` came to include Ceylonese/Sri-Lankans of British ancestry.

The Complete Penelope Cruz Saturday, 7 November 2009 - 8:19 AM SL Time

With two new movies Broken Embraces, her fourth film with director Pedro Almodovar, and Rob Marshall`s big-name musical extravaganza, Nine Penelope Cruz is mining both the Spanish roots that made her an actress and the hard-won Hollywood breakthrough that made her an international star. The author taps into the fierce passions of the Oscar-winning enchantress, whether for her directors, her leading men (including current flame Javier Bardem), or the cinema itself.

Cruz is poised to become a new member of the tiny firmament of actresses who began their careers in a language other than English and went on to become truly international stars: the Marlene Dietrichs, Greta Garbos, Ingrid Bergmans, Sophia Lorens, Anouk Aimees, Catherine Deneuves, Jeanne Moreaus, and Liv Ullmanns. Like some of those actresses, Cruz isn`t cookie-cutter pretty she even has a bit of a schnoz but her unusual features come together in a memorable aria of real beauty. As Woody Allen says, `I don`t like to look at Penelope directly. It is too overwhelming.`

Congrats Yankees :)) Thursday, 5 November 2009 - 5:05 PM SL Time

NEW YORK Paint the town in pinstripes!

Nearly a decade after their dynasty ended on a blooper in the desert, the New York Yankees are baseball`s best again.

The New York Yankees won the World Series for a record 27th time after an inspired performance from Japanese designated hitter Hideki Matsui.
Matsui matched the World Series game record of six RBIs thanks to a two-run homer in the bottom of the second, which was followed by a single and a double which each allowed two colleagues to score.

Passion in Photography Sunday, 1 November 2009 - 10:14 PM SL Time

Susan Sontag said in her book `On photography` photography is not as artful as e.g. literature, because you don`t put your own pain in it but the pain of others. You can agree or agree to disagree, whatsoever.

The question she raises about the `exploitative nature` of photography is something that concerns me to a much higher degree than that `art or not` issue. Maybe because I`m mostly interested in learning more about the people and myself while shooting.
